Day 4 : 9/24/01 

Wake up a 10:30

So today Crater Lake. We got there at 12 and started by a nice little 20 mns hike to see Phantom ship. After that we also hiked 1.5 hours to watchman point to have a view from wizard island.

We then went down Cleetwood trail to have a view at the lake level. The trail was quite streneous and we tried to race a couple park rangers on the way up ... we lost!

So Oregon is a weird place with it's own rules. In case you didn't know, you can't fill up with gas yourself! So you have to wait for someone to do it. It takes forever!

Anyway, it seems the more north we go, the more the accent seems hard to understand. Tonight at Denny's (AGAIN!!) I had to extrapolate what the waitress said with the couple words I understood! (Anyway they still say the same thing everywhere). But people seems more real and nice than in the Bay area. It's really relaxing. People are also definitly not on a hurry on the road, which let you appreciate the millions of tree you can find on Oregon.

We drove 300 miles and it felt like we went accross a 300 miles forest!

David in his killer mud just wipped out another hundred of butterflies which came and crashed on the car's winshield

We spend the night 10 miles south from Porland.

Weather was good all day but the forcast do not look that good.
